Surprise visit with dl_greenarrow

It was only a couple of days before Christmas and Chloe was packing a bag to take to Smallville, she hadn't heard from Oliver since the weekend, when he had left to go back to Star City.

So when she heard the elevator and went to look at the security camera just to see Oliver himself was in the elevator, she was surprised. She had been expecting him to avoid her and Christmas altogether.

"You don't want to have Christmas with me, Chloe. You just want to rescue me from my own misery. Don't act like it's anything more than pity. You're better than that." He shook his head a little and headed toward the elevator.

Her eyes widened at that and she stared at him in disbelief, "so on top of everything you think this is just pity? Not the fact that I want you around? That's great, Oliver. You nailed it right on the head." She said angrily, her tone unmistakeably sarcastic.

He didn't turn to face her. "Then what the hell is it?" he demanded, trying to keep a lid on his anger and hurt.

"I just told you, I want you to be around, contrary to what you seem to think, I do like hanging out with you." She said tightly.

His jaw was tight, words that he didn't want to say, but couldn't help but think sticking in his throat.

With a deep breath she just watched him for a long time, both of them in silence then she shook her head, "fine, apparently thinking it's just pity is easier for you."

"Easier? Hardly." He turned to face her, a flicker of pain passing over his features. "More believable? Yeah."

She just stared at him, shaking her head, "glad to know that's what you think." her voice was tight when she spoke.

"How can I not?" he asked quietly, turning from her once more and pressing the elevator button.

"What the hell are you even talking about?" She blurted out before she could stop herself, regretting the question the second the words left her mouth.
