chloesullivan: (Dad)
Chloe had picked up her dad at the airport about an hour ago. She hadn't seen him in a while even though they talked almost daily over the phone, so she had missed him a lot and she was glad to spend some quiet time with him, catching up.

She had kept him updated on everything. At this point, he had pretty much figured out about everything, well about Clark being Superman and about Ollie being Green Arrow. Mostly because of how much she talked about the guys as well as their identities a lot. She had also told him the truth about Conner and although he tended not to ask too many questions about any of it, she also knew he didn't talk about it with anyone.

He had yet to meet Oliver face-to-face, however and while Chloe knew they would get along just fine and they had spoken on the phone before, she knew they were both equally nervous.
chloesullivan: (looking down)
Chloe had managed to get up, shower and change before Maddie woke up, she called work and was assured someone would bring by proper medication so she took whatever she had and went back to bed.

She had slept deeply for... she had no idea how long. Her body was completely sore and she knew she had been very lucky to make it back if her complete lack of strength was anything to go by.

"Mad--" she began, but her mouth was completely dry, she couldn't speak and considering the empty glass by her bedside, it looked like she was going to force herself to get up for this.
chloesullivan: (looking down)
It was around four in the morning when she finally managed to stumble into her apartment. Her vision was blurry, her breathing shallow and pained and the front of her shirt was soaked in her own blood. She hoped it was only the front.

She felt weak, but forced herself to remain as quiet as possible. Just a few more steps.

That was what she kept telling herself over and over all the way from the facility where it had happened. The place she'd been looking into when her attacker came out of nowhere. There was struggle but the other woman was faster and she knew exactly what she was going for.

Chloe fought her back as well as she could, but she hadn't been expecting a visitor in a location that had been abandoned supposedly for nearly a decade. She should have known better, especially while dealing with Lex Luthor, but she wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

A struggled noise escaped her but she forced herself to stay quiet. She didn't want to wake up Oliver and especially Maddie. She just needed to make it to the bathroom and stitch herself up, she had done it before.

But her knees kept wanting to give on her so as she started down the hallway toward the bedrooms, she had to stop, leaning her side heavily against the wall, a hand covering her wound and adding pressure to it as she tried to catch her breath.

It should have stopped bleeding by now.
chloesullivan: (Serious Queen)
Chloe had spent most of the morning at Watchtower, she made sure Conner was taken care of then she texted Oliver and told him she would be picking him up in a few minutes, the drive from the Watchtower to Clocktower was pretty short so a moment later, she texted him again, letting him know she was outside.

After everything that had happened this week, she was done leaving everything for chance, she was sick of things just blowing on her face or being taken away, so she was done trying to make plans.
chloesullivan: (Mouth hanging open)
Chloe had spent most of the day in the Watchtower, she hadn't realized that all the work after the benefit would be as intense as preparing it. She had collected all the donations and now she was working remotely with a couple of people from Queen Industries as well as Emil and Mia's doctor to start implementing the money into equipment and staff.

The work would be rewarding, she knew as much, but even though she was a very fast learner, there was a lot for her to learn and understand and she wanted to make sure every decision was thought out and as close to perfect as it could be. That in itself wouldn't normally be a problem, but the further into her pregnancy she went, the more uncomfortable the chairs in the Watchtower seemed to get and the less she was able to focus.

All in all, it had been a long day and she was glad when she got out of the elevator on their floor that she could hear noises coming from within the apartment as well as the amazing smell of Ollie's cooking. She was absolutely starving and maybe it was just her imagination or even wishful thinking, but she could swear it smelled like lasagna.

With a deep breath, she opened the door, "Oll--" she was about to call out for him when she stilled. The entire apartment was covered in tulips and candles, the dining room table had been set and on top of it, there was definitely a huge lasagna. Her eyes were wide in surprise and she knew Ollie owed her a very expensive date for the auction, but she'd been hoping he would at least give her some heads up for it so she could dress up properly and not just wear what she wore the most these days: whatever fit and felt comfortable, like the long dress she had on now.
chloesullivan: (Oliver - Spooning)
[After unexpected visitor]

Chloe hadn't said much the previous night, her head still spinning from... whatever that had been, she had been hoping she would wake up today and it would have just been a dream but Ollie was still in bed with her, his arm wrapped tightly around her, which meant he was worried about her.

Sighing softly, she turned her head slightly to look at him, she still felt disoriented and she still couldn't explain what had happened, which was why she had to try and find some kind of explanation as soon as possible.
chloesullivan: (I believe in you)
The very next morning, they made their way to Maine. Chloe had spent most of the previous day finding them a place to stay and they had ended up deciding on a bed and breakfast that luckily was dog-friendly so the three of them could stay there without a problem.

Their luggage had already been brought in and Chloe had Nellie in her arms as they walked into the room. It was... incredibly cozy. In a way, it made her feel like she was back in Smallville, most of the furniture was made out of wood and the room had blankets draped over the back of the small couch, lots of pillows and blankets on the bed and a large fireplace. It looked like a good place to help Oliver heal and of course the fact that the double glass doors of the room faced the ocean wouldn't hurt either.

What also had helped was the fact that Chloe had spent the other part of the previous day researching the girl he had helped and it looked like she was doing well. She was only fourteen years old but now that her worst nightmare was dead, the girl seemed to have moved on quickly. She had left her dad's house and moved in with an Aunt who lived in San Francisco and it looked like her grades and attendance had improved by a hundred percent.

Chloe had been incredibly relieved to find out that the girl was doing well, but she had also been able to feel Oliver relaxing, even if slightly, when he heard the news.
chloesullivan: (soft smile)
Chloe got home a little later than she'd been expecting to, she had expected to be there nearly two hours ago and she was relieved Oliver was living with them now and felt comfortable enough to stay with Maddie, but she didn't want to abuse him or even for Maddie to get too attached to him only for them to have to go their separate ways again.

She had missed dinner time and she was glad she had bathed Maddie before she left for her work meeting and the to go see Lois, which had turned into her seeing Clark instead, but it was almost Maddie's bedtime and she couldn't help but wonder how behind on her schedule her daughter would be.

With a deep breath, Chloe unlocked the door and stepped inside, stilling when she saw her daughter leaning sleepily against Oliver even as she colored whatever drawing that was in front of her. Chloe took a deep breath and pursed her lips together, for someone who had never had a father figure in her life, Maddie seemed to like having him around a lot.

"Hey," she said quietly, "sorry I'm late."
chloesullivan: (Oliver - Spooning)
When Chloe next woke up, she was pressed up against Ollie's back, her arm was wrapped tightly around him and her forehead was resting against his back. Nellie had gotten on the bed at some point too and was sleeping between Chloe's and Oliver's legs, her head resting on his ankles from what Chloe could see without moving too much.

She wasn't sure how he was going to react to waking up with her like this, but she didn't plan on moving, she knew he didn't believe her or her feelings for him, and she couldn't blame him for it, but she also wasn't going to give him an option. She was going to take care of him and prove to him that she did love him, no matter what she had to do to get him to believe her.
chloesullivan: (soft smile)
Once Maddie was clean and her hair was mostly dry, she and Chloe joined Oliver in the living room, where Chloe had left Oliver with the option of watching TV after she ordered Chinese for the three of them. She usually tried to get Maddie to eat better than that but today wasn't a normal day and she wasn't going to try to cook for Oliver.

Considering the only person Maddie usually socialized with outside of daycare was Veronica, she was beyond excited to have someone new to talk to and ask questions to, so she had been talking pretty much non-stop during the meal and Chloe could tell she was getting tired but she was fighting it.

Chloe took a last bite of her lo mein then sipped on her water, "there is plenty more if you're hungry," she offered Oliver, she was surprised at how easily he was talking to Maddie considering she didn't think he had been around kids at all before.
chloesullivan: (looking down)
Chloe wasn't sure how many hours had gone by since they got back to the Clocktower, the apartment was much lighter now so she knew the sun was up, but she hadn't moved from her position since Oliver laid down on his bed and she wasn't planning on doing so.

She could have sat down on the chair by his bed or even on his bed, but she didn't want to get comfortable and risk falling asleep so she picked a spot on the floor, leaning back against the door frame and watching the bed.

Although she couldn't see him from where she was beyond the covers and the fact that he was obviously under there, this was enough for her. She wanted to be able to give him some space and still keep an eye on him since she absolutely refused to leave him alone even for a second, she wasn't going to risk it, not after what had almost happened.

And every time she thought about that she had a hard time not breaking down, she couldn't stop from thinking what it would be like if she had suddenly woken up to find that his body had been found outside his property.

To say she was freaked out and scared didn't even begin to cover it, but this wasn't about her, this was about him and her doing everything she could to make sure she helped him in every possible way.
chloesullivan: (Wide eyed)
It had taken her weeks before she managed to find him again. Luckily he hadn't left town and since she was still operating from his Star City penthouse, she didn't even need a ride from Bart to get to him, she had managed to track him down to one of his properties, the building had been under construction for a while and it wasn't finished yet, but she had found satellite images of him walking into it three separate times so she guessed that was where he was staying.

Of course, it was twenty stories high and with no elevators so she was breathless by the time she reached the nineteenth floor. There had been no sign of Oliver anywhere, but if she knew him at all, he would have picked the very top floor.

She made her way to the twentieth floor as quietly as she could after stopping for a few moments to catch her breath and as she reached it, she held her breath. There were a couple of things scattered around the floor, empty bottles and a t-shirt, he really was there. Or had been as it seemed that the floor was not completely empty except...

Pursing her lips together, she looked over her shoulder back at the stairs, she could feel the wind, the sea breeze hitting her and it wasn't coming from below. Of course. The roof. Oliver seemed to have a thing for roofs especially when he had to clear his mind, it was usually where he stood, the place he chose to hide.

With a deep breath, she reached for her shoes and took them off, dropping them to the ground silently along with her purse before slowly making her way up the last few steps and, sure enough, the roof door was open, she could hear the ocean outside, there wasn't a lot of traffic anymore, it was past two in the morning after all. She wondered if he was patrolling, but she doubted it.

Holding her breath, she stepped out on the roof, her eyes falling on him instantly and then she stilled completely.
chloesullivan: (Holding her breath)
After leaving Lois, Chloe drove a few blocks North of her hotel, double checking on the address she'd gotten a long time ago and once she was sure she was in the right place, she parked and made her way up to the 7th floor.

With a deep breath, Chloe checked on the time again as she waited for the elevator to reach its destination, she had about an hour, so it should give her enough time for this and to pick up some food on her way back.

A moment later, she walked down the narrow hallway and checked on the apartment numbers, pausing when she found the correct one and knocking on the door.
chloesullivan: (Holding her breath)
Since the news about Lex Luthor being alive broke, Chloe hadn't slept. It took her about thirty-six hours to pack up everything she needed and drove to Metropolis, under the circumstances, it was as fast as she could make it.

Her employer had managed to set up an hotel room for her until she could find a permament place is she decided to stay, and once she made sure all the cameras and security were as desired, she called Lois and set up to meet her during work hours at her cousin's apartment. She was nervous about seeing her again, but with Lex back and obviously being interested in the other woman, she had no choice but to keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe.

It was just a little after two when Chloe made her way up to Lois' floor, her heart was beating fast but her expression didn't betray her emotions, she knew that when it came between her and her cousin, she had to be the collected one.

With just one more deep breath as she stood by the door, she willed herself to relax and knocked, then waited.
chloesullivan: (HBIC)
Chloe took a deep breath as she walked into the dimly lit bar, it smelled like sweat and pee and even though she couldn't see the reason why she was there just yet, she could hear the cheering and yelling that was coming from the back of it.

Pursing her lips together, she shoved her hands in her pockets and wrapped her fingers around her small taser. Sure, it was California and she was wearing a heavy jacket, that should look suspicious enough but she didn't care, she had to do this.

As she pushed her way through the bar and toward the crowded back room, she did her best to avoid eye contact, the hat she was wearing should hopefully conceal the fact that she was a girl long enough so that she could get to her goal without calling too much attention to herself or having to have to call 'rape' or something equally disturbing.

It seemed to have worked, because just a moment later, she could see the cage, partially anyway but it was enough for her to see him in there. The crowd was growing more and more excited with each punch and each kick that he took, she couldn't help but wince or the fact that her stomach was turning as she watched him fall to the ground. The most disturbing part was that he wasn't fighting back at all, he was just... taking it, like he deserved it and she had no doubt in her mind that he thought he did.

Which was why she was there, to find him and tell him the truth and bring him home.
chloesullivan: (On the phone)
Chloe grunted in her sleep as the noise started to tug her toward consciousness. At the second ring, she turned and blindly felt her way around the bedside table for her phone, accidentally knocking out the glass of water and causing the dog, who was sharing a bed with her, to jump and vanish from the room.

"Nellie, it's okay," she called then sighed, opening her phone and laying back on her pillow, the glass was plastic since she was prone to breaking them so she would worry about the water later.

Whoever it was that was calling her at four in the morning better have a good reason for it, "hello?"
chloesullivan: (Watchtower - typing)
It was a little after ten when her computer informed her of an incoming call. She frowned a little and held her breath as she adjusted on her chair, the caller ID was telling her the caller was 'Emerald Archer' and although she knew they had planned a conference call, she was sure it had been canceled after the way their disastrous lunch ended.

With a deep breath, she nodded a little to herself and ran her fingers through her hair before accepting the call. She couldn't ignore work if he needed her and she had the feeling he wouldn't be calling unless it was extremely necessary.
chloesullivan: (Texting)
It had been a long time since she'd seen Oliver, not because they'd been arguing this time, but because they'd both been busy. They still talked on the phone and emailed back and forth but she'd been working a lot at the Planet and he'd been running a lot of missions with the guys, which she'd been helping with, but she'd been working out of the Clocktower on her own since the 33.1s they were looking into were mostly out of the country.

It had been at least four weeks at this point since he was last in town and last time she checked, they were in Argentina, so she was more than a little surprised when she got Oliver's text that said: Up for lunch, Sidekick?.

So a little after one, she made her way out of the Planet and over to the Italian restaurant Oliver had suggested. Since their trip to New York, everyone at work knew she was close with him and although she was sure most people suspected they were sleeping together, she didn't want to give them proof of anything and she'd rather not be the subject of office gossip anyway.
chloesullivan: (Oliver - sitting close)
Once Mia was settled and Mike was in there with her, Chloe looked around the apartment for Oliver, but when she didn't find him in the living room or kitchen, she made her way to their bedroom and sighed softly when she saw him sitting on the bed.

Swallowing hard, she closed the door quietly behind herself and walked over to him, silently sitting down next to him and sliding her hand in his.
chloesullivan: (looking up)
"Can you see it?" Chloe asked impatiently as Emil rubbed the ultrasound device against her swollen stomach, she had her fingers wrapped tightly around Oliver's hand as she watched the small monitor next to the bed.

They were supposed to be finding out the gender of the baby today, but she knew that sometimes, depending on the angle the baby was in, it wasn't always possible to see what was going on. She just hoped Emil was able to figure it out, she had been anxiously waiting for today, she simply couldn't wait to find out.
