Lunch with dl_greenarrow

Chloe was typing away on her desk. She had been doing so much work for the Watchtower that she was barely caught up with Planet work. She had had a deadline the previous day and now she was trying to do as much research for her next article as she could because she knew the second she was out of the Planet, her attention would be focused on something else entirely.

He rolled his eyes, and ducked his head a little. "They're just jealous they're not the ones taking the star reporter out for lunch."

Chloe laughed and rolled her eyes, squeezing his arm a little, "someday, I will have that title." She paused and looked up at him curiously, "anything on the computers?"

"You're right, you will," he said confidently, stepping onto the elevator and waiting for the doors to slide shut before glancing down at her again. "They're still running, but nothing so far on our GPS access code. I'm sure it won't take too much longer."

Chloe nodded and sighed, "yeah, I need to take a look at it, if the system was updated, chances are, they are just looping our attempts to get in..." She made a face and shook her head, "why does he have to complicate things?"

"Where do I even begin?" he asked wryly. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly, not surprised to feel his anger level rising just at the mention of Lex Luthor. Even so, he needed to push it away as best he could for the time being. No use in being angry over what was supposed to be a nice, friendly lunch with a friend. He glanced at Chloe and smiled. "So what are you working on here?" he asked as they stepped off the elevator and headed for the lobby.

Chloe squeezed his arm softly and nodded, getting the point that it'd be better to talk about something else, "nothing Earth-shattering, just a story on the lack of parking downtown. People always get pissed off around Football season." She cocked her head and looked up at him, "how did the call go?"

He shrugged a little. "Yeah, went all right." He smiled faintly. "Board members weren't happy about my latest executive decision, but..." Oliver shrugged. "They'll get over it." He walked with her down the sidewalk.

She smiled a little and nodded at him, "I'm sure I will hear all about it in tomorrow's newspaper?" Chloe wasn't sure how Oliver managed to do all he did as GA, plus CEO work. Both were extremely time consuming... she paused and looked at him for a moment, make that just plain consuming, "you look tired." She said quietly.

"Ah, thanks, Sidekick. Always good to have my ego stroked before lunch." He nudged her lightly in the arm, and offered her a small smile. "I'm all right. Though I think that our naps on the couch are starting to become habit."

Chloe did her best to will herself not to blush, but failed miserably. She wasn't sure what was wrong with her, but she didn't like it, "yeah, sorry to keep falling asleep on you..." she smiled, still embarrassed, "I blame your couch for being so comfortable and inviting."
