Quiet conversation with dl_greenarrow

A couple of days after Michael's possession incident, Chloe was still doing her best to find out everything she could on the subject, she had gone back to the Winchester novels and had highlighted information that seemed real and now she was sitting on the couch of their apartment, laptop on her lap as she researched some more.

She really wanted to ask the Winchester about the protection amulets they had mentioned so she was planning on giving them a call in the near future, but she didn't want to seem completely uneducated on the subject when they spoke and on top of that, she was making a list of things she could ask because she didn't want to miss any important details.

Chloe paused when he called her name and lifted her head, looking over at him, a small smile automatically appearing on her lips, "yeah?"

"You've been at the research awhile now. Maybe you should take a little break? Eat some lunch," he suggested.

She looked down at the laptop again and blew out a breath, "I could eat," she agreed reluctantly, she really didn't want to stop, but she knew she'd worry him if she didn't, "there is just so much we don't know..."

"I know, Chloe." His voice was soft. He moved over to sit down beside her on the sofa, carefully picking up the laptop and setting it on the coffee table. "It's always going to be that way. There's always going to be something or someone we don't know or understand enough. But Michael's okay. We're all okay."

"We are now, Ollie," she shook her head a little and pursed her lips together, dropping her hands to her lap, "but we need to stop that from happening again, and if this... supernatural stuff is going to be a part of our lives now, we need to know how to deal with it, what if the Winchesters aren't available next time around?"

He nodded a little. "I agree. Which is why I think we should meet with them. Get a crash course in demon possession." He paused. "Intellectually only this time."

"Yeah, I know," Chloe agreed and smiled a little, "I'm just trying to do some research and come up with questions we might need answers to," she told him quietly.

Oliver gazed at her for a moment, then reached out and took her hand in his, sliding his other arm around her. "If tattoos keep demons from possessing you, count me in."

"Is that what they said?" Chloe asked, watching him, at the time the conversation happened, she wasn't really paying attention, she was focusing on helping Michael, but now that she thought about it, there was a mention of amulet tattoos in the books.

He nodded a little. "They both had them." He pressed a kiss to her temple. "Said something about charms, too."

"I guess that's a start," she said quietly, leaning a little closer for him, "we should give them a call soon, before they leave town."

Oliver rested his head against hers. "We can call them today."

Chloe let out a breath and leaned closer, closing her eyes for a moment, "okay, maybe set up a meeting just us four, since Dean seemed a little uncomfortable to be around Michael..."

He gently stroked her hair, an unconscious gesture. "We can do that," he agreed softly. "But I'm not sure how well Michael will take it."

"Probably not well," Chloe said with a soft sigh, "and we can set something else up for after we meet with them, but I think we need to talk to them about this without distractions, don't you?"

Oliver nodded slightly. "Probably," he murmured, lacing his fingers with hers and looking down at their hands. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly.

Chloe turned her attention to their hands too and sighed quietly, "maybe that way we can talk to them too, explain Michael and explain that he really doesn't expect much from them."

"Yeah, it's a good idea. I'll give them a call," he said softly, kissing her knuckles softly.

She squeezed his hand and nodded, leaning back against the couch tiredly, she hadn't really gotten much sleep, she kept checking on Michael and trying to think, based on everything she'd read so far, of ways to protect them from things like this.

"Why don't you take a nap?" he asked softly, well aware of the fact that she hadn't had much sleep.

Chloe shook her head a little and smiled slightly, "I'm okay. Have you talked to Mia today?"

"Chloe," he murmured, pulling her a little closer. "You need your rest. And no, I haven't talked to her today. I'm guessing she's on a beach in Tahiti soaking up as much sun as she can get."

"I just had coffee, I'm okay," she explained, but didn't complain about him pulling her closer, she shifted instead and adjusted to his side.

And apparently she had forgotten it was already Friday, "right, I forgot she was leaving today."

He smiled a bit at that. "Wonder if that could be from the lack of sleep..."

She rolled her eyes a little and shook her head, "I'm fine."
