1. What are/were your parents’ names?
Gabe Sullivan and Moira Troupe
2. Where are/were they from?
My dad grew up in Kanopolis, a small town about 3 hours from Metropolis and my mother was born and raised in Metropolis.
3. How did they meet?
My dad was working at the Metropolis LuthorCorp plant and Moira was working at a nearby coffee shop, he would stop by every day until she agreed to go on a date with him.
4. How long were they together before you came along?
About two years when Moira got pregnant.
5. Were you an accident?
Definitely.
6. What did you love most about them growing up?
I don't remember much about Moira but my favorite thing to do with my dad was cuddle with him on the couch and watch Saturday morning cartoons.
7. Did/do your parents fight a lot?
I don't remember it too well but I do remember a couple of fights.
8. Or did/do they have sex a lot?
Not that I know of, but Moira left when I was 6 so I was too young to notice something like that.
9. What is the worst argument you ever overheard them having?
I don't remember what they were saying, but I remember a bad argument a little before Moira left.
10. Were/are they affectionate?
Towards each other? I remember a couple of occasions, but my dad more than her.
11. What is your favorite memory of them?
I have so many good memories of my dad, I think one of my favorite ones was when I first kissed a boy and I ran into the house to tell him, he was trying so hard to pretend like he was excited but thinking about it, he was so uncomfortable. My poor dad. But he was always extremely supportive and open to any conversation I'd want to have.
12. Scenario: You walk into the house and find your parents getting busy on the dining room table. What do you do? What do you think they would do?
I can't even imagine what that would be like, I haven't seen them interacting since I was 6.
13. Were/are your parents hip or lame?
My dad is a geek and he is proud of it.
14. Did/do they ever embarrass you in front of others?
Every teenager is embarrassed by their parents every now and then and I was no different, my dad loves telling jokes.
15. Which parent wears/wore the pants in the relationship?
When Moira was around, she did, I think.
16. Have you ever seen one of them crying?
I saw my dad crying after she left, but I was too little to really understand.
17. Did/do you ever wish they would get divorced?
I think it worked out best that she left when she did, she hurt him enough that way, and if she had stayed he and I might not have been as close as we are.
18. Were/are they the type to spontaneously dance around the kitchen together or sit quietly in the living room ignoring each other?
I remember both happening occasionally.
19. Do you think your parents made you or ruined you?
My dad definitely made me. I couldn't ask for a better parent.
