[ooc: open party thread! Mingle, thread-hop, crash the party, cause drama. Whatever you feel like.]

The wedding had gone smoothly. Her dad had walked her down the isle like it should be. They had exchanged their vows and rings once more. Even if the ceremony had been just a formality, since they had been married for two weeks now, but it had still been nice to be there with their family and close friends.

After that, they had been dragged to another room in the hotel for pictures and only now were they being introduced back to their guests, this time as Mr. and Mrs. Queen.

The reception was taking place in the ballroom of the Metropolitan. The decoration was, unsurprisingly, green. Dinner would be served but drinks and appetizers were already available for those who wanted them.

Chloe just hoped his part of the day went as smoothly as the rest of it had.

Though Lois was more than relieved at Tony's input, she flashed Clark another apologetic smile before climbing into the car.

"Nhh, keep the windows open, Happy," she pleaded, pressing her forehead to the window's edge and shutting her eyes.

Tony slid in after her, closing the door before her friend could invite himself along. "To the airport, Happy," he said, settling into the seat. He looked at Lois, frowning. "Jarvis is scanning you. If something's wrong, we're goin' to the hospital."

Keeping his ears open for everything going on in the car, Clark went back inside to find Conner, who was falling asleep in a chair.

He picked him up and ran him home, explaining that Lois had a stomach ache and he was going to go take care of her. He promised Conner that Grandma would read him his bedtime story before he left the house, following Tony's car.

Lois shut her eyes a moment, swallowing heavily and attempting to get a hold of herself.

"No hospitals," she repeated, reaching a shaky hand for her purse. She tossed her phone at him. "Call Emil. Tell him it's happening sooner than we thought." She winced, curling into a ball and sucking in a breath.

Tony caught it, expression tight with frustration and worry. What was happening sooner than they thought? He sighed. "Only because I like you," he said, making the call.

Hand clutching her belly, she leaned over and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"You're my hero, Tony," she muttered before promptly keeling over into a fetal position, head resting on his thigh.

Tony's hand settled on her head, fingers running through her hair. Obviously, something more was going on. He didn't like it. Hopefully Emil, whoever the hell Emil was, would have some answers.

"Yeah, yeah. Tell me that when you're not puking in foliage."

She let out a shaky breath, attempting a weak smile.

"I'll be okay," she murmured, sounding thoroughly unconvinced herself. Pulling her knees into her chest, she attempts another deep breath. "I'll be fine."

Tony glanced down at the Mark V, which was still in travel mode. He nudged it with the toe of his shoe. "Well?"

A bright blue line of line zeroes in on Lois. After a sweep, Jarvis's voice filled the cabin, "I detect the presence of an unidentified non-terrestrial parasite, sir. It has attached to her uterus. Calculations put the likeliness of her survival between 2 and 0.3%." Jarvis paused then. "I am very sorry, sir."

"Non-terrestrial parasite?" Tony echoed. Superman? The daddy was Superman? Okay, not the point. "You know, I think dying is one of those things that you should tell people, honey." His voice was level, not raised at all. Tony was very proud at himself.

Clark almost fell out of the sky when the voice in the car said Lois had a less than one percent change of survival. He managed to keep a hold of himself and and fly faster, planning on stopping the car and taking Lois out to get her to Emil.

Lois winced at Jarvis's assessment, shutting here eyes and setting her jaw.

"I didn't think it'd start happening this fast," she said quietly, her voice an empty echo.

"It'd have been nice for those around you -- say, me -- to know this was a possibility." His voice was still level, though a bit of a edge was starting to bleed through. "Super genius, remember? I could have..." He released a breath, letting his head fall back against the seat. He had no idea what he would have done, but it would have been more than simply pet Lois's hair and listen to Jarvis tell him she was going to die.

"There has to be a way to fix this."

There was a way to fix it. Clark landed behind the car and held onto the bumper, forcing the driver to stop. He pulled the door open and reached for Lois.

"I'm taking you to Emil. You're going to be okay."

Lois's voice tightened, and this time the breath she sucked in was accompanied by a small sob.

"I'm sorry," she said, her voice small as she shut her eyes. But a split second later the car wrenched to a stop, the seatbelt knocking the wind out of her as she scrambled to sit upright.

"...C- Superman?!"

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

"I can get you there faster than this car."

He picked her up, careful not to jolt her too much. "We'll take care of this."

Tony grabbed the handle of the Mark V and followed them out. Dropping it, he hit the latch with his foot and quickly suited up. He nodded at Superman. "Go. I'll follow."

"This was so not how I saw this evening going," she grumbled, burying her face into Superman's chest and shutting her eyes. Her stomach gave a lurch and she hissed, body coiling into his arms.

"Non-terrestrial parasite, Lois? What does that even mean?" Was she possessed by an alien? He'd have to get her tested, just to be sure.

She sucks in a shaky breath, forehead still pressed in his chest. When she speaks, her voice is tight again.

"They're yours, Clark," she whispered. "Twins."

"You're pregnant?" That made the situation a thousand times worse, because now instead of trying to destroy whatever "parasite" was inside her, he had to save it. Them.

He sped up just a little, still flying at a safe speed for Lois's sake.

She shut her eyes, clutching Clark around the neck and letting out another labored breath. Maybe if she blocked it all out, it would go away.
