Reconnecting with dl_greenarrow.

It had been a long time since she'd seen Oliver, not because they'd been arguing this time, but because they'd both been busy. They still talked on the phone and emailed back and forth but she'd been working a lot at the Planet and he'd been running a lot of missions with the guys, which she'd been helping with, but she'd been working out of the Clocktower on her own since the 33.1s they were looking into were mostly out of the country.

It had been at least four weeks at this point since he was last in town and last time she checked, they were in Argentina, so she was more than a little surprised when she got Oliver's text that said: Up for lunch, Sidekick?.

So a little after one, she made her way out of the Planet and over to the Italian restaurant Oliver had suggested. Since their trip to New York, everyone at work knew she was close with him and although she was sure most people suspected they were sleeping together, she didn't want to give them proof of anything and she'd rather not be the subject of office gossip anyway.

He shook his head a little. "No, not yet, but I'll be starting on it later." He drew in a breath and let it out slowly.

"Let me know if you need help," Chloe told him, "I have a deadline at four today, then a meeting with my editor that shouldn't last more than fifteen minutes or so, but I'm free after that."

He nodded a little. "Maybe we can do a video conference then," he said, taking another drink.

"Right," she nodded a little and took a deep breath, maybe he had some self-preservation in him after all and didn't want to be alone with her somewhere.

"Are you all right?" He gazed at her for a moment.

"Yeah, I'm okay," she told him, taking a bite of her bread. She really couldn't blame him, at least he was doing what was good for him for a change.

He watched her for a moment, then nodded, glancing around the restaurant for a moment before glancing at her again silently.

Chloe took a long sip of her wine then shifted a little on her chair, arching an eyebrow when she realized he was staring at her, "what?"

He blinked a couple of times. "What...what?"

"You're looking at me like you're trying to read my mind," she told him, taking another sip of her nearly empty glass.

He raised his eyebrows. "I am?" He shook his head a little. "Sorry. I'm just in a daze, I guess." He shrugged, dropping his gaze to the table.

Chloe nodded a little and shrugged, "yeah you look exhausted, are you going to try get some rest after lunch?"

"Yeah, probably," he said with a slight nod. Except not. He just didn't want her to worry about it.

She squinted a little at that, eying him closely, "really?"

He raised his eyebrows a little. "Not like I have anything else to do."

"Yeah, well I've known you for a while and I never heard of you taking a nap during the day," not one that wasn't post-sex anyway, but it looked like that was definitely not happening.

"Are you spying on me?" His voice was light, teasing. "Monitoring my daytime activities?"

"I didn't get my position for nothing, you know," she told him, arching her eyebrow.

He raised his eyebrows at that. "Well, I was just kidding. Now I'm slightly worried." He cocked his head to the side.

Chloe raised her eyebrows and picked up her wine, taking another sip as she smirked slowly at him.

Oliver narrowed his eyes at her. "Sneaky."

"You should have more wine, relax so you can rest," she pointed out. She hadn't really been watching him all the time, but she had been asking the others how he was doing and occasionally taking a look for herself.

"Two glasses with lunch is a little much, don't you think?" He studied her for a moment, relaxing a little anyway.

"Not if you're taking the afternoon off," she pointed out, watching him back.

He sighed inaudibly, giving her a look. "Fine. I'm not going to nap."
