(OOC: Because I was bored and she asked for it. Apparently wee!chlo-lo is not a source of happy fic. Excuse my characterization of kids, I'm not really around them at all.)
"Lois, give it back!" the tiny blond demanded as she held her hand out to her cousin, frowning hard at the other little girl, but her cousin didn't seem at all intimidated as she kept flipping through the pages of the notebook.
"What is this anyway?" the older girl asked, looking mostly unimpressed and slightly confused as she turned the notebook around.
Chloe frowned more at her, crossing her arms over her chest, "It's my research, you wouldn't understand it."
"Of course I will." Lois stated as she sat down on the bottom of the front stairs to the building Chloe and Uncle Gabe now lived at, the place she was supposed to spend the entire summer at and even though she thought it was too small for all three of them, it was better than spending it with her dad at the base. "I'm older than you, I know more than you do."
After considering her cousin for a moment, Chloe dropped her arms and sat down next to Lois, "I'm going to find my mom." She said matter-of-factly.
"And how are you gonna do that?"
"I will... do it like a detective would. That's why I have my notebook." She nodded towards the small TMNT notebook that Lois still held, "I write down what I know and then I figure things out and find clues and that's how I find her."
Lois frowned, flipping the pages for a moment before closing it and holding it out for her cousin, "It's not going to work."
"Why not?"
"Because when moms leave, they don't come back." Lois said as she picked up a marble from inside her shorts' pocket.
The blond frowned again and looked down at her notes, shrugging, "That's not true, when I find her and tell her that daddy is sad, she'll come back."
Lois shrugged back, looking up at the marble as she held it against the sun, "My dad was sad too, it didn't matter."
Chloe was quiet for a moment, she knew she was going to find her mom and she knew she'd come back home, her daddy couldn't be sad anymore. He was the best daddy in the world and he missed her mom too. But... maybe Lois' mom really wasn't coming back and that's why she said those things.
She should make her feel better, because her dad had told her that Lois might get upset since she was going to be away from her dad and her little sister, so Chloe got up and folded the notebook as well as she could, "Do you wanna go back to the playground?"
The older girl looked up at her cousin and shrugged, nodding as she got up, "Okay," she grinned, "I will race you there." she said before taking off, running toward the park.
Chloe didn't even blink before starting after her cousin, "Lois, wait!" She yelled as she tried to catch up with her.
