It had been a very long day since Chloe got the phone call from Mia, Ollie had stayed at home with the kids and she had spend the night and the following day in the hospital with Mia. Once the little girl's dehydration wasn't a problem anymore, her broken arm had been stabilized, and the police had collected all the evidence they could, Chloe was able to take Mia home.
Times like this, Chloe didn't feel bad about using her last name to get things to go the way she wanted, there was just no way she would allow Mia to go to an orphanage or yet another place where she'd be uncomfortable, so she insisted on bringing her home with her.
"We're here," Chloe told Mia as she pulled into the driveway, glancing at her on the rear-view mirror.
(Posting order: Mia, Ollie, Chloe.)
