Surprise visit with dl_greenarrow

It was only a couple of days before Christmas and Chloe was packing a bag to take to Smallville, she hadn't heard from Oliver since the weekend, when he had left to go back to Star City.

So when she heard the elevator and went to look at the security camera just to see Oliver himself was in the elevator, she was surprised. She had been expecting him to avoid her and Christmas altogether.

"It's tradition?" He meant for his words to be a joke, but the words fell flat even to his own ears.

She frowned and just cocked her head at him, but didn't say anything.

He shrugged a little and rose to his feet. "So leaving tomorrow then?" he asked, raking a hand through his hair.

Her eyes widened a little and she looked up at him, "you're coming?"

He turned, caught off guard by her words. "No, I just...was asking," he said softly.

"Oh," her face fell and she nodded, shrugging, "yeah."

He sighed softly. "Don't do that," he murmured.

She frowned and glanced at him out of the corner of her eyes, "don't do what?"

"Look so disappointed."

With a sigh she looked up at him, "I can't pretend I'm thrilled with the idea of one of my best friends spending Christmas by himself."

"Wasn't planning on spending it by myself. I was planning on spending it with Jim, Jack, and Jose," he responded with a small smirk.

She didn't need an explanation to get what he meant, that's exactly what she expected him to do, drink himself into a near unconscious state, with some luck he would stop before going too far, and try to ignore the holiday.

And she had no doubt everyone around him would put up with it, poor little rich boy, no family to spend Christmas with, but she knew it was bullshit.

With a deep breath, she got up and looked at him, "I get that Christmas is probably hard on you, Oliver, I'm sure you have spent plenty of them getting drunk and pitying yourself because you were alone, but this? This is just plain stupid, you have people who care about you, who want you around, but you're too busy with your own self-pity to see that. You rather ignore the fact that you can have a nice Christmas for a change than accept the fact that things don't have to be the way you've made them in the past few years."
