Nightmares with [livejournal.com profile] dl_greenarrow and <lj site="livejournal.com" user

Chloe was late by fifteen minute, she told Ollie she would be back to the clocktower at eight, but Lois caught her just as she was about to leave work and she couldn't exactly pretend not to notice her cousin, she had been getting suspicious by Chloe's evasiveness as it was.

To her surprise, Ollie hadn't called her the second she was late, he had been understandably tense by everything that was going on. As she stepped out of the elevator, she frowned at the darkness, all lights were off in the clocktower, something wasn't right.

"Ollie?" She called carefully, turning the living room light on. No sign of him, her heart started beating faster as she dropped her purse on the floor and started turning every light she could on, looking into each and every room, calling his name.

"Ollie!" Her voice was getting more desperate at every room she looked into, and then, finally, she went to the master bedroom, her stomach turning at what she saw there.

There was a big dark red stain on the sheets, the bedside lamp had been shattered to pieces, and in the middle of the messy bed lay a single piece of paper. Chloe rushed towards it, already dreading the worst.

You shouldn't have betrayed me, Chloe.

She gasped as she read the words, she didn't need a signature to know who the note was from. Davis. Davis had Ollie and he was hurt, bleeding, she had to find him, she had to help him, she only hoped she wasn't too late.

She didn't fight it, she walked with him as he pulled her by the arm, "it doesn't have to be this way, Davis. We can help you, you can be human again." She didn't expect him to believe her, but for once, she wasn't lying to him.

When he turned to look at her, his eyes were blood-red once more. "Maybe after I do what has to be done first," he told her. "And then we can be together forever."

She held her breath once more, eyes on his face, "what has to be done?" She had to ask, the more she knew about his plan now, the more time she would have to try and plan a way out of it as he took her to wherever it was they were going.

"There are certain individuals who must be...dealt with first," he said lowly, stabbing the down button on the elevator violently.

"Davis," she pleaded, it was best to let him think he was in charge, in control of everything, "leave him, we can just go somewhere, the two of us, no one needs to get hurt."

"He'll come looking for you. They both will. And as long as they do, we'll never be able to stop," he told her, his voice calm, but his eyes anything but.

Tightening her jaw, she shook her head, "they wouldn't be able to find me if I didn't want them to, I can erase all my records, my name, everything, we would be safe, I promise you. No one has to die, Davis, you're not a monster."

She placed her free hand on his arm, watching his face as she did, doing her best to look completely sincere about her intentions even if her stomach was turning at the thought of what he could do to her and to Ollie and Clark if she didn't get him under control.
