Nightmares with [livejournal.com profile] dl_greenarrow and <lj site="livejournal.com" user

Chloe was late by fifteen minute, she told Ollie she would be back to the clocktower at eight, but Lois caught her just as she was about to leave work and she couldn't exactly pretend not to notice her cousin, she had been getting suspicious by Chloe's evasiveness as it was.

To her surprise, Ollie hadn't called her the second she was late, he had been understandably tense by everything that was going on. As she stepped out of the elevator, she frowned at the darkness, all lights were off in the clocktower, something wasn't right.

"Ollie?" She called carefully, turning the living room light on. No sign of him, her heart started beating faster as she dropped her purse on the floor and started turning every light she could on, looking into each and every room, calling his name.

"Ollie!" Her voice was getting more desperate at every room she looked into, and then, finally, she went to the master bedroom, her stomach turning at what she saw there.

There was a big dark red stain on the sheets, the bedside lamp had been shattered to pieces, and in the middle of the messy bed lay a single piece of paper. Chloe rushed towards it, already dreading the worst.

You shouldn't have betrayed me, Chloe.

She gasped as she read the words, she didn't need a signature to know who the note was from. Davis. Davis had Ollie and he was hurt, bleeding, she had to find him, she had to help him, she only hoped she wasn't too late.

A familiar voice whispering his name lured him toward consciousness despite the lingering pain that swam behind his eyes. Everything hurt, including breathing. He tried to remember what happened, tried to recall what had caused the pain, but for the moment he was drawing a blank.

He struggled to open his eyes and when he did, there was two of everything, and the pairs were red and blurry.

She let out a breath when she saw him moving, tugging even harder on the ropes, but it wasn't working, so in an attempt to get closer to him, she knelled down on the floor, ignoring the water that was all over the place, she leaned forward, "Ollie," she whispered, her voice breaking, "it's me, you don't have to speak if you can't, it-- it's okay."

He coughed, tasting something coppery and metallic in his throat and mouth and grimacing as he realized it was blood. "Chloe?" he mumbled dimly, turning his head toward the sound of her voice.

"Don't. Don't try to move." She whispered, watching him carefully, trying to see as much as she could with so little light. It looked bad, she wasn't sure he could stand even if he tried and she was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to carry him very far even if she managed to free herself, they needed help.

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Not moving sounded like a good plan to him considering the slight movement of his head made him want to throw up. "What's going on?" he murmured, closing his eyes once more. There was a sharp pain in his stomach that he fought to ignore.

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
She saw the pained look on his face and started pulling harder at her hands, she had to get to him, "Davis," she looked around to make sure he wasn't there, "he, he brought you here then came back for me."

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
At that name, he jolted awake, gasping involuntarily as pain shot through him. He cursed under his breath as his stomach rolled and he threw up--combination of the pain and the sickening smell of death that was all around them.

It took him a moment to stop heaving but when he did, he shuddered involuntarily. "Are you hurt?"

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Wincing, she looked around to make sure that the noise hadn't alerted Davis, tugging even harder at the ropes, she couldn't feel her wrists anymore, "no, I'm okay." She whispered, gasping when the ropes started to loosen around her arms.

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"If you get loose, get out of here," he whispered, struggling against his chains.

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
She frowned as she freed her hands, pushing herself up and rushing towards him, "I'm not leaving without you." Stopping herself from going to comfort him, she started examining his chains instead, they would have time for that later. The chains were rusted, if she had something to use against it, she could free him.

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Chloe, listen to me," he whispered, looking up at her with tired eyes. "Get out of here and get help. Find Clark."

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"No." She insisted, looking around nervously, "if he finds out I'm gone, he will kill you." Part of her knew he was right, that she should go get help, but he was completely defenseless, she couldn't leave him there. Davis had caused enough damage as it was and it was all her fault.

"She's not wrong." His voice was low and dark, almost a growl as he slowly descended the concrete steps.

Oliver tensed at the sound of the other man's voice and he wound his hands around the chains binding his arms, using their strength to pull himself to his feet. Not that it was going to last long, considering the condition he was in at the moment. "Keep away from her."

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Chloe closed her eyes and let out a deep breath when she heard his voice, her arms dropping to her sides in defeat, it had taken her too long. Unconsciously, she held on to Ollie's arm, helping him stand up, meeting his eyes for a moment, she shook her head, "I'll handle it." Her voice was barely audible.

With another quick look at Oliver, she turned around to look at Davis, positioning herself between them, she looked up at the other man.

[identity profile] davis-dooms.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"You can't stop me, Chloe." His voice was dangerous as he moved closer to her. "You know that. I have to do this. For us."

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"No," reluctantly, she stepped forward, placing her hand over his chest, that was when she started lying, she wished she had mentioned it to Ollie, wished she'd asked him to go along with it when they were alone, but now it was too late.

"I can't love a murderer, Davis, especially not someone who murdered people I know. If you kill him, I won't want to go anywhere with you. If you leave them alone, I won't let them find us, I promise you."

"Chloe, you can't go with him!" Oliver jerked against his chains. Pain shot through him and he slid down the wall once more, unable to stand any longer.

[identity profile] davis-dooms.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Davis looked from her to Oliver, then back again. Wordlessly, he reached out and pulled her closer to him, leaning down and kissing her. "Prove it," he whispered.

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Her stomach turned when he kissed her and she did her best not to push him away, she couldn't. Ollie's life depended on it.

With a shaky hand, she reached down and took Davis' hand in hers, looking up at him for a second before turning to look at Ollie again, her chest tightening as she saw him back on the floor, she had to get Clark, somehow.

"I'm sorry, Oliver, but this is my choice. I'm sorry you got caught in the middle of this but I'm leaving with him and I'm asking you not to bother trying to find us, you won't be able to."

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oliver shut his eyes for a moment as it dawned on him what she was doing. There were only two choices here. Play along and risk Davis taking off with her, or not playing along and possibly getting both of them killed in the process.

Grimacing, he opened his eyes once more, choice made, despite the sickening feeling he had in his gut. "If you go with him willingly, if you let him touch you, you're not even worth looking for," he said flatly, meeting her eyes and hoping she knew he was only playing along.

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Her face softened at his words and she felt herself relax a little, she knew he got it, that this was the only way. With a tiny nod, she straightened herself, going back to her lie.

"Good," She said harshly, "then stay out of our way." And with one more look at him, she turned to face Davis once more.

[identity profile] davis-dooms.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Davis glared at Oliver a moment longer, then lifted his gaze to Chloe. "Let's get out of here before I change my mind."

[identity profile] chloeas.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
She nodded, glancing at Ollie one more time as Davis dragged her away, she only hoped it didn't take Clark too long to start looking for them. For him.

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oliver met her eyes, his own blurred with tears. I love you, he mouthed, hoping she saw, and praying to God it wasn't the last time he'd be able to tell her.
