chloesullivan: (Looking down uncomfortable)

The following day with [livejournal.com profile] dl_greenarrow.

When Chloe woke up, she was in her bed, her memory hazy for a few seconds, it looked kind of dark outside, but it didn't sound like it was early in the morning, the traffic in the distance outside, it sounded more like rush hour than anything else.

She sat up and when she did, her head immediately started pounding and with the pounding came her memories, she remembered the accident and the hospital and then leaving the hospital with Oliver and then...

The clock said it was 6:43, and if the noise outside was anything to go by, it was 6:43PM. She had slept all day, which meant she had slept all day and that meant she had completely missed work.

Chloe groaned and rubbed her head before getting up, she could hear the TV in the living room, so she walked towards it sleepily.

She squinted at him and smirked, "well, I guess there is nothing I can help you with, then, boss."

Oliver sighed and looked at her. "There is actually." He slid off the counter and held his hand out to her.

Frowning worriedly, she took his hand and hopped off of the counter, watching his face as he did, "what's wrong?"

"You still haven't taken your Vicodin, for one." He smiled faintly and picked up her pill bottle, placing it in her hand once more.

She took the bottle and nodded, "I figured I better wait until I eat before taking it?" She shook her head, "what's going on?"

"Oh, yeah. You're probably right." He frowned a little, glancing at the clock. "Pizza should be here soon." He cocked his head a little. "Nothing's wrong."

She watched him, turning the bottle in her hand as she did, he had sounded like there was something going on but she was going to believe him, "as long as you're sure."

"I'm sure," he told her quietly, studying her for a moment. "Are you feeling all right? Other than the headache?" He wasn't used to feeling worried about someone, because there hadn't been anyone close enough to worry about for quite awhile.

"Yeah, the coffee even made the head ache better and I was planning on spending the night researching but if you are making me take this," she raised the pills, "I'm pretty sure I would just drool on the keyboard." She smiled a little and to be honest, she still felt tired, although she was pretty sure it was because they had given her some kind of drug at the hospital.

He relaxed a little, nodding. "The research can wait. It's more important to me that you get back to one hundred percent." He didn't even realize that he'd slipped the words to me into the sentence. The buzzer sounded from downstairs and he offered her a warm smile before heading toward the monitor to make sure it was the pizza delivery person.

She watched him and rolled her eyes a little but she was still smiling, his choice of words also going unnoticed by her. Once he disappeared from view, she picked up both their mugs and set them in the sink and pulled out two plates and two glasses, setting them on the dining room table. Since she had moved in, she hadn't had a chance to actually have dinner on it, mostly because she always ate by herself, so it would be nice to actually have company.
