Wedding reception!

[ooc: open party thread! Mingle, thread-hop, crash the party, cause drama. Whatever you feel like.]

The wedding had gone smoothly. Her dad had walked her down the isle like it should be. They had exchanged their vows and rings once more. Even if the ceremony had been just a formality, since they had been married for two weeks now, but it had still been nice to be there with their family and close friends.

After that, they had been dragged to another room in the hotel for pictures and only now were they being introduced back to their guests, this time as Mr. and Mrs. Queen.

The reception was taking place in the ballroom of the Metropolitan. The decoration was, unsurprisingly, green. Dinner would be served but drinks and appetizers were already available for those who wanted them.

Chloe just hoped his part of the day went as smoothly as the rest of it had.

After mingling with some of the guests and congratulating Oliver and Chloe, Clark went to find Lois. He walked up behind her and tapped her shoulder.

"Would you like to dance?"

Lois was in the middle of berating a waitress for incompetency when she felt the tap on her shoulder. The waitress took the opportunity to dash away, which had a growl bubbling out of Lois's lips before she turned to Clark, unamused.

"What?"

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
He gave her a weak smile. "You're the maid of honor. I'm the best man. We're supposed to dance..."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
She assessed him a moment, blinking a few times.

"The bride and groom have a dance. Bride and father. I don't think anyone cares if you and I share a dance, Smallville." Aaand she'll attempt her escape now.

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"It will be fun. Come on, you need to relax a little, you've been working all day."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm perfectly relaxed, Clark! See? Breathing." She sucked in a slow breath and exhaled, just to prove him wrong.

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
He raised his eyebrows. "If you don't want to dance with me, go dance with Conner. He'd love it."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
She watches him a moment, then shrugs her shoulders.

"I'll go do that, then."

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Before she can go anywhere, he touches her arm. "Lois, wait."

"Just one dance. With me."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Lois stops in her tracks, glancing up at him hesitantly. Aw, goddammit. He's doing those puppy dog eyes.

"Fine," she says begrudgingly, glancing around before returning her gaze to him.

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
He took her hand and lead her over to the edge of the dance floor.

"I haven't had a chance yet to tell you how beautiful you look," he said sincerely, smiling at her.

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Lois attempted not to blush. Really she did. She also truly attempted to shoot back with some kind of sarcastic retort, but that innocent smile on his lips squelched it pretty quickly.

"Thanks," she murmured, slipping her arms around his neck and attempting a small smile.

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"It was a beautiful wedding. They seem really happy." He put his hands on her waist and slowly started to dance with her.

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded, casting a glance at the happy couple.

"They really do, don't they? It's nice, you know? They deserve it."

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
"They've been through a lot together. I'm glad they have this."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded, gaze returning to his before flitting down to his chest.

"Yeah."

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
He didn't want to make things any more uncomfortable and awkward as they already were, so he just smiled down at her, not saying much.

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Lois, not wanting to ruin the moment, returned the smile as well. It was... nice. Giving the banter a break, even for a little while. She let out a soft sigh, attempting to relax for the moment under the gaze of those baby blues...

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
He let his green eyes rest on her face, occasionally looking down to see where their feet were.

"Lois," he said quietly, trying to get her attention.

BLUE

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Lois's mind was drifting, most likely to places she'd be mortified to confess. Her head perked up when she heard her name, eyebrows raised.

"Clark?"

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Clark shook his head quickly. "Nevermind."

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"What?" she insisted, voice softening.

[identity profile] loistheintrepid.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Lois smiled at that, nodding once.

"Yeah, it is," she replied, tipping her head towards him a bit.

[identity profile] smallvillekent.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
He looked down again to make sure he wasn't about to step on her feet, then lifted his head. He gazed down at her, moving a tiny bit closer.
